Two peaks, 690m and 694m respectively. Walk time approximately 4 hours. Knocknabro and Shrone could be extra options. Wonderful views - if the weather permits.
The journey from Tipperary takes about 2 hours via the N8 to Cork. At the Tunnel, follow the N22 Westbound towards Macroom, Ballyvourney and Killarney. The starting point is Clonkeen (Church of Our Lady of the Wayside), a right turn off the N22, about 12 kms West of Ballyvourney. (It is longer via Killarney and the road is not as good.)
The Mills and the Abbey in Ballyvourney may have some vacancies on the Sunday night but are full on the Saturday night. Some vacancies at the Castle in Macroom also and Oriel House, Ballincollig. Excellent food is available all day at the Mills, if people wish to have a meal before heading home.
You can contact Pat to let her know you are going and if you wished she could meet you at 10.30 at the Mills carpark, Ballyvourney and lead you West from there.
